Oceanside Oregon Beachfront Vacation Rental
Property Description: Welcome to Grazelza Gunch
House, a family retreat only 1 block to the beach with a
hot tub and private, fenced yard! This sun-filled,
1,500 sq.ft. home is located only 90 minutes from
Portland in the unique village of Oceanside.
This home is as suitable for a romantic getaway as it is
for a gathering of old friends or a family retreat. Have
a huge group? One of our other homes, Hale Kaalawai, is
right around the corner. Another, Castle Cove, is on
the up-hill end of a trail that's across the street. "Ocian
in View" is about 4 blocks away. Book two (or more) of
them and enjoy a discounted rate!
Ask us for our more detailed list of amenities before
your stay, to avoid packing any unnecessary stuff in the
car! We have very many items that are not listed below.
The beds (including the sofa beds) have very high
quality mattresses, including cushy Memory Foam
(hypoallergenic) toppers and a multitude of pillows
(including contoured Memory Foam) for extra-dreamy
dreams. One of the master bedroom queen beds is a Select
Comfort SLEEP NUMBER © bed with two remotes, so no
squabbles over the setting!
All sheets are either pima cotton, Egyptian cotton or
flannel, with a 300 thread count or higher. All
blankets, throws, quilts and comforters are either
cotton (chenille for baby), hypoallergenic down or polar
fleece. The robes that we provide for hot tub purposes
are 100% cozy cotton.
Our bathrooms are stocked with incredibly soft and
thirsty towels, quality TP (no sandpaper), cruelty free
and biodegradable hand soap, bath/shower gel and lotion.
There are also special furnishings, towels and
toiletries for every stage of little one, from newborn
to pre-teen.
The kitchen is set-up, with everything that you forgot
you needed, to prepare either a light snack or an
intricate meal! There are: a dishwasher, a range with a
decent oven, a built-in microwave and a fridge with an
ice maker. Your little ones will enjoy using their own
set of colorful (dishwasher safe) Melamine dishes,
bowls, tippy cups and utensils. If the weather be foul
(let's face it, this is Oregon) fire-up the indoor
S'Mores "stovelet" - under adult supervision, of course!
There are 3 TV's with cable and DVD players (the living
room has surround sound), a portable CD and cassette
tape player, 2 CD/MP3 player alarm clocks (one has an
input for your portable CD player and the other a
built-in CD player, both have an input for your portable
MP3 players) and, we take great pride in our fabulous
collection of games! For now only high speed dial-up
Internet access is available, through a local ISP. We
are waiting for wireless companies to catch-on to our
market!
The side yard is perfect for croquet (set provided,
please treat it kindly). The fully-fenced back yard is
described below.
Upstairs:
The L.H. Franistat Room (master bedroom) has a romantic
deck for two, with an ocean view, vaulted ceilings and a
sitting loft that also has an ocean view!
There are two queen sized beds in this room, one of
which is a Select Comfort SLEEP NUMBER© bed!
The shower bathroom is detached, with a multi-setting
shower head.
The living room has a firm sofa that converts to a queen
sized bed (it is NOT a fold-out!) and has a built-in
chaise.
There is a propane fueled fireplace, which comes in
handy during Winter storms (in case the power goes out)
and for chilly nights.
The 3 TVs have cable and DVD (CD) players (with surround
sound in the living room for movie lovers).

details about the kitchen.
The dining room table pulls-away from the wall to seat 6
(4 adults can eat comfortably at the coffee table) and
the toddler table seats two.
There is a "peek-a-boo view" of the ocean from the
living room, the adjoining upper deck and the reading
loft.
Downstairs:
The Flizzip Room (family room) has cushy
seating on a modern sleeper sofa, a large
ottoman for game boards plus two side tables that can be
pulled-out for coloring or dominos, a comfy reading
chair, portable CD and cassette tape player and
entertainment center with cable TV/DVD.
You are also welcome to use the inflatable mattress
that is available, upon request, for a $40 fee.
We have a rechargeable walkie-talkie set that can be
used if some of you go to the beach and some stay behind
(cell phones won't work there).
Your kids will enjoy the fun extras in the many closets
(stored so that guests without kids will not stumble
over them).
The P. Parfine Room (kids' room) has bunk beds and a
twin sleigh bed. The changing table is stored in the
closet.
Also stored in various closets are: a bassinet, infant
swing, infant carry seats and a portable crib (which can
be moved to any room for use).
The G. Gafoo Room (guest room) has a full sized
fold-down (not out) couch, toys and a great rocking
chair. The screen is the door.
The jetted tub bathroom is down the hall, which also has
a stacked washer and dryer.
We provide enough cuddly (but covering) cotton robes for
our guests to enjoy the hot tub off of the wrap-around
porch in back.
In back, a picnic table under the cherry tree is perfect
for Summer BBQs.
If a chill hits the air, fire-up the wood burning
outdoor fireplace and cover-up with a fleece throw.
There is parking for a max. of 4 cars in front of the
home.
Our Guests are Important to Us! We have a portable
ionic air purifier in the home and use a chemical
reducing filtration system in the hot tub. All unused
outlets are plugged and dangerous items are stored out
of little reach. Cabinets with heavy items have stops
installed. No cords will be hanging from anything heavy
for curious hands to pull. We keep removable baby gates,
baby and toddler friendly toys and first aid items
stored in the closets, for use while your family is
here.
The things you will not find stocked in our home, so
bring them with you if you can't live without them, are
very many disposable items. We try to be as ecologically
responsible as a busy family can be, so we do not stock
items like paper towels (we use washable cloths instead)
or disposable plastic bags (we use reusable containers
instead). If you are familiar with composting, feel free
to add to the pile! We also ask that you leave your
unused plastic bags with us instead of throwing them
away.
We do not use harsh chemical cleaners in our home. We
special order most cleaning products from NZ, because of
their environmentally friendly approach. Otherwise, our
cleaning products and toiletry items are as cruelty-free
and Earth friendly as we can find. Sadly, bleach must be
used in the jetted bath tub and chemicals (such as
chlorine) in the hot tub to be safe enough for our
guests to use. We continue to look for better
alternatives, however.
You will be asked to remove your shoes at the door in
this home. There are shoe mats provided near both
entries.
Rates: The rates are based upon an occupancy of
6, but the home sleeps 12 max "off the floor," if at
least 4 are young kids. Children under the age of 5
stay for free.
The Off Season rate is $125 a night - $812 per week - 3
night minimum.
The High Season rate is $145 a night - $942 per week - 3
night min.
The Peak Season and Holiday Rate is $165 a night -
$1072 per week - 4 night min.
>From June through August we encourage you to book from
Friday through Friday by offering the 7th night FREE,
plus we'll waive the cleaning fee!
The cleaning fee for this home is $100, if booking 4 or
more nights, $130 for fewer.
There is a small flat fee of $30 for use of the hot tub,
to pay the hot tub technician after your stay. Extra
fees will apply if rules for use of the tub are not
followed.
"Our Hero" Special: Your commitment to helping the rest
of us may qualify you for an additional 5% off of your
total. Let us know what you "do" when you make your
reservation, we'll let you know if you qualify! Only
one per reservation, please.
Off Season Special: Book your stay with us for at least
3 nights September 10th through June 1st and we'll give
you 10% off of your total.
Early Bird Special: During the Off Season, book your 7
nights' stay with us for the High or Peak Seasons and
we'll honor the Off Season rate.
Fill-in the Blanks Specials: If there are 3 (or fewer)
nights available in-between bookings during the High or
Peak Seasons, you may book those nights at the Off
Season rate! If you request 7 nights, but only 6 are
available, we'll give you the 6th night free.
Return Guest Special: As always, Return Guests receive
their first night half off when they come back to us, at
any of our homes. (Return Guests must stay a minimum of
3 nights for the first night half-off special to apply)
